Jaqueline + Ben’s July wedding at The Black Pearl on the Columbia was nothing short of epic. From their gorgeous sage and creme color palette to their plated meal, this day was adorned with thoughtful details from start to finish. The centerpiece of the day was the customary Vietnamese tea ceremony, a moment when the couple pays respect to their parents and ancestors. This beautiful ritual created an emotional and intimate atmosphere that resonated with everyone present.

After their vow exchange, we ushered guests upstairs for cocktail hour on the second floor of The Black Pearl, and prepared for a surprise! Incorporating a lion dance into the festivities was a brilliant idea! The energetic White Lotus dance troupe, adorned in traditional costume, brought vibrant energy to the room. The pounding drums, clashing cymbals, and graceful movements of the lion dancers mesmerized the audience, symbolizing good luck and warding off evil spirits. The couple even participated in the dance, making it a memorable and culturally significant moment.

Jacqueline told me that she wanted a fresh, herbal garden aesthetic for her dining tables, so we partnered with Great Jones NW and Jodi Iverson Florals to create an absolutely stunning dining experience. It was also SUCH a treat to have Paige of Hey.Halle on board for this event, as she’s a personal friend of Jacqueline + Ben’s.

What's a modern wedding without some exciting twists? Bubble tea, originating in Taiwan, made an appearance at this wedding. The Bubble N Tea of Beaverton created a station that was set up with an array of flavors and toppings for guests to customize their drinks.

I couldn't have been more thrilled to help Jacqueline + Ben turn their vision into a reality. Their day had so many beautiful, intentional moments that called back to both their heritage as humans, and their love story as a couple!
