wedding llamas at the eleanor wedding venue

This one is bittersweet to write about. Don’t get me wrong, Steph + Adam’s day was nothing short of perfect, but I didn’t get to witness it. Wayyy back in 2021, before gobs of free at-home COVID tests were available, I started to get a sore throat. My eyes narrowed as I scoured the shelves at local pharmacies. All of the tests that they had for sale were sold out, and no one could tell me when more would be coming in. I made an appointment with my doctor, and got in right away, but COVID tests needed to be sent out to the lab and my results wouldn’t be available until Saturday…Steph + Adam’s wedding day.

This is the absolute worst-case scenario, my friends. NO planner ever plans on having an illness take them out (especially one that we don’t know a lot about yet, and could be potentially harmful to their couples or couples’ guests.) I called in backup and then called my clients and told them what was happening. I let them know I would defer to their comfort level, and that I’d already arranged for backup if they decided they weren’t comfortable with my being there and being masked. Vendors take note, you can never go wrong anticipating the needs of others with good intentions. By presenting Steph and Adam with this scenario, I was bringing value to the table even if I wasn’t going to be physically present because I’d already taken care of it for them.

Cindy Lindsley of Peachy Keen Coordination was my hero-not-wearing-a-cape that weekend. She stepped in and seamlessly executed the day for Steph and Adam, getting them from point A to point B, receiving the wedding llamas (yes, they were there!), and ensuring all guests had an outstanding time.
