stunning seattle winter wedding at melrose market studios
I’ve known Teresa from years and years of community theatre participation, and it was heartwarming to receive the invitation to ensure her wedding day was seamless and stress-free. She and I have shared the stage in everything from The Great American Trailer Park Musical to Little Women over the years. Our close-knit group could see the writing on the wall when Teresa met Deson, and left her hometown to move up North. Soon, wedding bells were ringing!
I love a cozy, intimate December wedding, don’t you? Let’s have a look at some photos from the seriously talented Beauty Mark Photography…
It was an exciting day when I got the text inquiring if I’d be available to help plan and coordinate this wedding. We started looking at different venues and details. Teresa and Deson visited a handful of different options I’d put together for them before deciding on Melrose Market Studios in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle, WA. Once the venue was finalized, the real fun began! Teresa selected a playful yet art-deco inspired invite in a deep night sky hue. We carried this blue throughout the wedding with linen colors, signage, floral, and Deson’s tux.
The day started off leisurely, with Teresa getting ready with the help of Kat Green at an Air BNB her family had rented. When it was time to head to the venue, I got to feast my eyes on what makes every Planner fill up and bubble over with excitement and joy — a bustling venue and catering staff hard at work during load in. I got to meet Brian with Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes Catering, and his team. (PS, if you’re ever looking for a fantastic venue with a dialed-in team, check out Hanna with Melrose Market Studios, and tell them I sent you!)
After a little while, it was time for Jason and Vince with Pollen Floral Works to arrive and load in, as well as Lindsey and Ben with Beauty Mark Photography. During all of this, as a Planner, I’m taking care of last minute details, setting out personal decor like signage, votives, and table numbers, and checking in with venue and catering staff to make sure that they have everything they need to complete their jobs to the best of their abilities.
There’s something so cozy about bistro lights, exposed brick, and candlelight. After the ceremony wrapped, Teresa and Deson headed next door with their witnesses and officiant to sign their marriage license and enjoy cocktails. Brooke at Still Liquor made sure everyone had something to snack on and delicious drinks waiting.
As guests enjoyed cocktails and charcuterie, Teresa and Deson were introduced back in with the help of Oren with Karr Productions. Dinner was served, guests enjoyed hilarious and heartfelt toasts, and the dancing began. After a bit, Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes staff served ice cream to guests as a double-duty dessert + late night snack.
As always, a huge thank you goes out to the team of vendors that pulled together to create a perfect, seamless, and relaxing day for this beautiful couple. It was such an honor to be a part of your day, Teresa and Deson! This is a wedding I’m sure your guests will be reminiscing about for a long, long time.
